Oktoberfest - once a German festival, now a worldwide phenomenon to celebrate Bavarian culture & flowing pints of beer. Our Bavarian lager pours smoothly and has more bold malt flavor than a typical Oktoberfest. Its rich toffee color will captivate you with layers of malt aromas before finishing like a traditional lager - clean & crisp with just a hint of caramel.

Poured from a can. Hazy and caramel in color with a small head. Smells of caramel, toffee, malt and biscuit. Flavors of caramel, malt, biscuit and a slight nuttiness. Smooth, good flavor, easy to drink.

Appearance: Pours a clear, deep brown, rustic color with a strong tan head. SRM of 18. Darker than most Oktoberfest Marzens. (4.25)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of floral notes upfront. There's toasty bread, slightly astringent with a lemon citrus, toasty bread, and caramel finish underneath. (4.00)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of toasted bread, bread crumbs, brown malts, some floral notes followed by a dry and toasted bread crumb finish. Floral, toasty, yet light. (4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied, Moderate to strong carbonation. Finish is clean, dry, and somewhat light. Very drinkable. (4.00)

Compared to Founders Oktoberfest 11/10/21: Pours a darker color. Stronger aromas. More floral and brown toasty malts. Less sweet caramel malt. Lighter, dryer, and cleaner, but also more flavor. Winner: LakeTime

Overall: A good Oktoberfest Marzen here that has darker malts than most, but remains light. Very toasty, lots of flavorful toasted bread crumbs and malt. Maintains some floral hops. Finish is dry and clean at 4.8%. Impressed and found this to drink on the verge of a light, toasted brown ale. A very nice and darker Marzen that I would recommend. (Final Rating: 4.12)

Poured from 12-ounce can into a vintage hollow-stemmed goblet. Deep reddish brown colored body, with light ruby highlights and a thin off-white head that settled without a trace after a few moments. This is quite malty as advertised. Roasted malts, dark bread, and caramel dominate on the nose and palate. Good carbonation, with a bitter hop kick and a crisp and dry finish. This begs to be paired with hearty food, and makes an excellent companion to a bowl of spicy chili, crackers, and aged cheese. If you like 'em malty but not too heavy, this one's for you. Prost!
