not sure how much i liked this, just my second or third beer from these guys. its a little flat, and a little weird flavor-wise, two things that make it less special than the other(s) ive had from them. i thought it was a barleywine by smelling it, not much belgian yeast to it, and a lot of sweet malt and alcohol, bigger than others in its class. not all that dark in color, considering its classification, and only medium bodied. mild spice and a lot of grain character to this one, carbonation is nice, but there is an almost green pepper flavor in the middle. i think these guys are still figuring this one out, because their other stuff has been impressive, and while this one is good enough, its also super weird, and im not sure i dig it all the way. certainly sub par as a belgian dark strong, but i would order another one just to keep thinking about it...
