Pours a dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of sweet malt, alcohol, slight roasted malt, hint of oatmeal, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Brown Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong bitterness from the roasted malts. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, hops, hint of oatmeal, and a hint of chocolate. Overall, weak appearance, good aroma, body, and blend, but the strong bitterness in the feel is a detractor.

Poured a deep mahogany color with a small, tan head of pillowy foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, roasted nuts and pine. Nice bitterness with sweet caramel, toffee and nutty flavors.
