Brewed for those hot Missouri summers, but good enough to have anytime! This is a traditional German wheat beer that is very easy to drink and a favorite of many of our guests. Hefeweizen is light in body and color as it is brewed with 50% wheat malt. The cloudy appearance of the beer is due to the yeast that remains in suspension. The yeast also can contribute flavors of bubble gum, cloves, and bananas. German Tettnang and Styrian Goldings hops add a refreshing spicy finish.

A - Poured a semi-opaque, yellow color with a thin, fizzy, white head. A little soapy residue left behind on the glass.

S - It smelled of banana, clove and wheat. A slight yeast aroma, too.

T - Pretty good typical hefe flavors, banana, clove and wheat. A nice sweet overall quality.

M - It was crisp but a little thin. A very light-bodied beer.

D - Another good tasting brew from Flat Branch. A solid representation of the style.

Appearance: It was a very light yellow gold color it was not hazy like a Hefe should be. It had just a little carbonation. The head and lace were both white and pretty thin.

Smell: It had a strong banana and clove scent.

Taste: It reminded be of banana weizen more than a hefe. It had a strong banana flavor more than anything. Don't get me wrong I like the taste, it just seemed like it was done with imitation flavoring.

Mouthfeel: As with most of the beers I tried her it was very thin and watery.

Drinkability: I liked it. This beer would be good on a day and it is easy to drink.

Pours cloudy straw golden with a small white head. Container not best for this style. Aroma of citrus and bananas, quite typical for the style. The taste spicy with a predominate yeast flavor. Mouthfeel too thin mostly supported by CO2 as it warms the drinkability suffers.

This brew is a cloudy straw golden color, has a small white had, and looks very appealling.

It had a great smell of citrus and bananas, along with a big yeasty smell. The taste was slitly spicy with a big yeasty/bready flavor, though not overly complex more so than what it sounds like.

Mouthfeel and drinkability were good, and it left me wanting more. Which IMO is a sign of a good brew.

Draught: This one pours a cloudy, somewhat lighter golden color. It was fairly cloudy, and had a small white head. There was a minimal amount of lacing. I was suprised at the aroma. With the normal wheat overtones, there were hints of citrus, banana and yeastiness. It was medium bodied, but had a fairly rich taste. It had a bit of a breadiness and spiciness to the taste, which weren’t expected in a hefe. It seemed somewhat leaning towards a tripel. This was a good brew.
