Pours a dark black color. 1/4 inch head with good retention and light lacing. Smells were slightly muted, but consisted of sweet malt and alcohol. A great example of an aged Doppelbock. Had a thick and chewy mouth feel with an average carbonation level present. A strong bitterness and tartness quality was present. Tastes of strong malt, roasted malt, alcohol, and some light fruitiness. Overall, a great beer and I'm thrilled I was here at the right time to try this. The server said they had one more keg of this that was being reserved for a future date. I don't know how to know when this date will be, but if you have the chance your must try this brew!
