A brown lager is the base for this winter seasonal brew. We added spices during the kettle boil and again in the serving tank to infuse the beer with a complex spice profile. Star anise, cardamom seed, orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg and a few other's create the spicy flavor combination.

32oz growler. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled overpoweringly of winter spices. The taste was much more contained than the aroma. Nice malt and spice balance.

Pours a hazy, dark amber color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of clove, all spice, ginger, and slight yeast. Fits the style of an herbed/spiced beer. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of slight roasted malt, strong spice (ginger, all spice, and slight clove), and a yeast background. Overall, a strong spice up front, but a lacking flavor in the finish.
