Our Honey Wheat is the base for this brew. We added ginseng root at conditioning and again at the serving vessel transfers. The ginseng was sourced from a Canadian grower, and is 3 year old root that is harvested in a sustainable farming environment. We used 2lbs per barrel which makes the aroma apparent, and the flavor is woody and earthy. A refreshing brew with healthful ginseng benefits.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of green chilies, hint of ginger, hint of sweet malt, and hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an herbed / spiced beer. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable heat associated with this beer. Overall, tastes of slight green chili, hint of ginger, hint of sweet malt, and hint of pale malt. I'm not sure what ginseng exactly tastes like, but this is an odd beer. Tasted reminiscent of their green chili beer with some ginger thrown in as well. This is no one of my favorites from Flat Branch.

A - Poured a clear, golden color with a one-finger, white head of bubbly foam. It left some sudsy trails on the glass.
S - It smelled of spices (guess it is the ginseng although I don't know what that smells like). It kind of smells like a ginger beer.
T - It tasted of a sharp spicy bite (not like hops) and it had a little heat to it. There was a touch of caramel and some wheat.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied lager that was fairly dry.
O - The base for this beer is the Honey Wheat which isn't great, either. A bartender called it a lighter version of their Green Chile beer, but I'd call it odd. If you like ginseng maybe this is your beer.
