Flat Branch's first bourbon barrel aged imperial stout pours deep and rich, delivering powerful aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt and warm vanilla. After spending 12 months in bourbon barrels, it picks up layers of caramelized oak, char, subtle coconut and a smooth whiskey heat that elevates the beer's natural intensity. Full-bodied and decadent, it lingers with a long, warming finish that showcases both the stour's depth and the barrel character.

10oz pour at Flat Branch. Poured out an opaque, oil black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla and oak. Sweet chocolate with toffee bourbon, oak, vanilla and charred flavors.
