Flat Branch's first bourbon barrel aged barleywine boasts rich malt complexity, with notes of toffee, dried fruit and warm caramel. After 12 months in bourbon barrels it gains layers of oak, vanilla and a subtle whiskey warmth that deepens its luxurious profile. Full-bodied and smooth, it finished with a lingering boozy sweetness that perfectly balances the beer's robust malt backbone.

10oz draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear, dark amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of vanilla, toffee, whiskey and caramel. Sweet boozy taste with toffee, caramel, oak and vanilla.
