Our Brown is a British Style brown. It has a roasted nutty flavor complimented by a great malt sweetness.

Had at the brewery, served in a nonic pint glass. Nice appearance. A deep, dark, brown with a hint of red. Tannish head, about 1/2 a finger, but did linger on a bit. Smelled of sweet roasted malts. Some chocolate...malty sweet. Taste was very well balanced. Malty, caramel, toffee, roasted, nutty. Mouthfeel was medium-full and very smooth and drinkable. Almost like it was on nitro - which it wasn't. Some people might think a little too sweet, but I really thought this was exceptional. It's not easy finding a super solid brown ale these days This one ranks very high in my opinion. Guessing abv was right around 5.5% or so.

Deep brownish-red body with a very thin head. Chocolate aroma; cocoa powder. Mildly tingly hop bitterness riding over a subtly sweet malt bed flavor; tree nuts; brown sugar. Medium-heavy body; semi-sweet feel.

An excellent malt sweetness with a dark, roasted graininess throughout. Well-balanced and flavorful.

On draft at the source. The beer is chestnut brown with a thin, light beige collar. The aroma offers some sweet, fruity notes atop a light malt bill. The flavor is decent, albeit a bit to sweet. A bit more bread and malt character would serve this beer well. Decent beer, and easy enough to get through a pint, but this could stand a few improvements.

Appearance: It is dark brown with a red hue. It had a small tan head and average lace.

Smell: The aroma was very malty and sweet. There were some burning wood esters as well.

Taste: Very nutty especially in the aftertaste. Sweet toffee tones complimented with with the taste of grain.

Mouthfeel:Medium bodied.

Overall: It goes well with their Sheppard’s Pie.

A. Cloudy and smoky with an almost reddish hue. This is one of the better looking browns I've had in a while.

S. Mild but smoky and sweet. Strong roasted barley smell and hints of toffee.

T. Mild but very good. The toffee smell is a more caramel taste but the roasted taste is still the star of this beer.

M. This beer has some weight without being heavy. I expected it to be more chewy.

D. I bet this one is a hit in fall and early spring when the temperatures start to drop. A very good beer.

Pours a dark brown color, with an amber color along the edges and bottom of the glass. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of roasted malt, slight coffee, hint of hops, and slight yeast. Fits the style of an English Brown Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt up front, sweet malt, yeast, toffee, dryness from grass/grain, slight coffee, alcohol, and raisin in the finish. Overall, a very good English Brown Ale.

It has a rich, brown color and a decent head (2 fingers). The smell is nutty with a hint of sweetness. The nut flavor really comes alive when you taste it. I think it ranks fairly high for a brown ale. The beer is a little heavy. I wasn't eating when I drank it, but I imagine it could be difficult to drink a couple with a meal.

Rich clear brown with a rapidly falling ivory head. Aroma is sweet malts with weak fruit nuts emerging with warmth. Taste is malty and butterscotch. Mouthfeel a little on thin side. Hops and bitterness were understated (correct for style). The emergence of the diacetyl hurt the drinkability as it warmed.

Draught: This pours a fairly clear brown color. There is a bit of a rapidly dying tan head. Not too much lacing. The aroma is somewhat sweet, with a hint of nutiness. Maybe some fruits, but very subdued. The taste is malty sweet and nutty. A hint of roastiness to it. The aftertaste is a bit dry also.

Deep clear brown in color, has a small off-white head, nice fruity, nutty malty aroma. Mild nutty and sweet malty flavor, has a nice crisp hop bite in the finish. Somewhat of a watery and thin mouthfeel, not bad and pretty much average for the style.
