this stuff is the bomb. i liked all the hoppy beer in here, but this was up there with the best of them. grossly east coast, i mean, hazy and thick to the max, this looks like a melted creamsicle, as washed out and white looking as it is orange or yellow, so pale and muted, oaty in looks even, heady though, bubbly, and somewhat refined and polished for how hazy it is, very much a professional appearance in a style that allows for a lot of amateur wish wash. smell is pure citra glory, orange zest and preserved lemon and lemongrass and white tea, delicate but huge at the same time, the absolute essence of the hop. some grassy and pungent aromatics from the hallertau blanc too, but its citra that goes deeper for me here. nice starchy base in the flavor, oats and raw wheat and some pils i would think, simple but rustic too, giving a lot of character to this even before the hops. super juicy obviously in the flavor from the hops, but also not just a kitchen sink of slop like so many of these are. instead, i get pineapple and tangerine and almost no bitterness. its professional to me again, refined in a style thats anything but generally speaking, attractive even though its sort of conventionally ugly. creamy feeling, super hoppy tasting, nice carbonation and oily hops at the same time, but then super dry too, oaty at the end. really good stuff. these guys have these cloudy ipa types dialed right in!
