Pitch black and opaque with faint mahogany edges and a one finger off-white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Sporadic streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Sweet aroma with lots of maple and silky chocolate character that compliments the roast of the base beer very nicely. Lots of maple syrup and tootsie roll with silky chocolate fudge and decadent cake. Underneath, there's some really nice roasted gourmet espresso with toast and oatmeal. Smells very nice.
Medium body with a prominent silky sweet chocolate presence that's nicely integrated into the roasted coffee flavor of the base beer. Maple is in there but gets lost a little bit with everything else going on. Still, it's there adding additional sweetness to the tootsie roll, fudge, cake and dessert-like qualities. Underneath, there's some gourmet roasted espresso along with oatmeal, hazelnut, caramel, toast and coffee.
