No wine flavors come through in the taste at all. Maybe at the very end, but it's so subtle you really need to be looking for it. It's a decent saison despite that, but don't live up to the promise of being wine barrel aged.

Great, had it on draft at the source. Love what pinot noir does to their great saison. Beautiful color.

Beautiful burgundy amber color is the best feature. Adequate foam and carbonation in the mouth. The aroma has some of the barrel and a little sourish note.
Seedy and stemmy. So tannic it's hard to drink. Winey and mineral tasting. The other variations on the Universal Friend are pretty tasty. The Pinot Noir barrels are begging for a different brew, I think. On tap at the tasting room in North Park.
