8.5%- “Imperialized” version of Blazing World- This hulking version of our beloved, hoppy amber is a journey into the very soul of dankness, with a monstrous hop profile replete with fruity, resinous magic derived from boatloads of Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops. It’s a dazzlingly delicious beverage that celebrates the very stickiest of the icky while remaining outrageously drinkable. Pour it into your favorite tulip glass and prepare to be astounded.

September 9th, 2015 - Enjoyed at Toronado at the special Modern Times tap take over style event. Last beer of the evneing, and the bartender really went out of his way to fill this one to the brim. Predictably heavy piney scent. Quite sweet, but not overwhelming. Not yet. Not as bold as I expected. I mean, it's a Double IPA and there's a lot in there. But my esophagus isn't peeling back in protest. The pine touch is milder up front, gets larger in the back, and finds a prominent place in the aftertaste. Aspen bark, too. But there's a creamy kind of clarity too. Like, coconut water or cream or something. Something quenching. Good apple and strawberry notes in there too. So, a high, clear crisp sweetness. Alcohol is present, but not bad. Actually accent shows beer quite well. Lots of nuance, even at the end of four rather strong and varied beers.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Sudsy. Cream topped, and lush, with full rough staying power, off white in color and solid budging three to nearly four finger topped, but with island settling capped goodness. Body color misses out slightly. Dark and swampy brown, mixing and hinting but doesn't grab lighter touches, or even nicer opacity. But in the glass stands tall and proud with also excellent ring lacing.

Good and solid nose. Soft orange citrus, and flirts with light dank qualities, but sticks with simlple pleasure. Muted but not sugary caramel, and a solid simple backbone. Not much more to say other than supportive and solid.

Juiced rich but simply supportive. Wondedful small and simple palate flirting with juiced orange, and a touch of spicy grapefruit. Mouthfeel hints slightly neutral, with simple good malt backbone. Aftertaste brings classic soft tea qualities, almost black and green in flavor.

rreA good simple big IPA that dials down for tolerable consumption.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip

L: Nearly clear copper/amber pour with a solid finger of head. Nice rim of lacing.

S: Caramel malts and dank hops... definitely a 'Modern Times' hop bomb but with more grain on the nose.

T/F: Follows the nose. Caramel malts and sweetness which is well balanced by a juicy tropical kick of hops. Honey, light spice, and sugar... grapefruit of course and a dash if pine. Medium bodied... sticky... with more malted fruits at the finish.

O: A big amber... and way hoppier than usual for the style which absolutely works here (which would otherwise be too malty for my taste).

Pours a pale amber....very little head

Another reviewer had it right....this smells like a fruit cocktail cup. Sweet fruit....pineapple, white grape, honey

Taste is more citrus, a bit of peach

Feels a bit thin, low carbonation. A bit watery.

Great rye ale / amber ale filled with a bunch of citrus notes with the caramel malt notes coming from the grain bill. Must try!

Other than the hue this magical liquid sports, it's almost indistinguishable from a ridicuously-hopped (West Coast) IPA. Massive fruit-cocktail notes of pineapple, payapa, honeyed grapefruit, melon, and light white grapes radiate out of the blazingly amber liquid upon impact with the glass. Some frail but sweet malt-derived notes of honey and caramel also make sporadic appearances during the drinking session, but the story here as expected, is mostly that of the hops.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whereas the fruit cocktail on the nose is relatively easy to dissect into invidivual elements, the task on the palate proves a little more difficult; incisive notes of tropical-esque fruits meld effortlessly with their brighter citrus-driven counterparts, before being rudely interrupted by some sweeter honey and caramel notes from the crystal malts. Before the maltier flavors have time to get a lasting foothold into the palatal impression, they're all neatly wrapped with their predecessing flavors into a giant metaphorical trash bag and tossed aside leaving nothing but a citrus-peel like bitter dry finish.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Medium bodied, with a creamier than expected initial mouthfeel. The liquid as slick consistency to it, which complements the soft carbonation wondrously. Assuming a hypothetical, yet incongruent parallel can be drawn comparing Blazing Worlds to Dogfish Head's 60 Minute IPA, this would be 90+ Minute IPA, cut off right before it starts encroaching upon Barleywine territory.

Picked up a bomber from the Craft Beer Quick Stop 9-30-17 for $8.99. Bottled on 9-1-2017.

Beer poured amber with a nice white head that has some good hang time.

Nose is fresh citrus forward, very nice.

Taste is a nice caramel malt base, citrus, pine, and a touch of peach. Finish is a touch of citrus rind.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly light bodied and very refreshing despite the high gravity.

Overall a very enjoyable beer that i would love to see in a 12 or 16 oz format!
