Bottle poured into tulip.
Black as night with a mocha head that settles a bit and rings the glass. Floating islands of mocha colored foam.
Aroma is rich dark malts, roasted grain, black coffee, rich whiskey barrel.
Flavor has amazingly smooth barrel. Coffee and bitter cocoa nibs come through over the roasted grains and slightly smoky flavor. Hint of sweetness and lightest fresh citrus pokes its way through after it warms a bit.
A bit thinner than I was expecting, but still rich and smooth. Under moderate carbonation suitable for the style and between medium and heavy body.
Great variant, the whiskey barrel is nice, smooth and not "hot".
