On tap at the Tin Bucket the other day.
The beer pours a blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, I get a considerable amount of dark chocolate, vanilla, light coffee, bourbon and a hint of almond. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this fairly sweet stout. Mouthfeel is fairly full, and I get the impression that this beer could benefit from some short term aging (to soften the mouthfeel a bit). The finish is long and flavor filled, with the alcohol pretty well integrated into the flavor profile.
A nicely crafted impy stout for sure, but the price tag was a bit off putting. I just got a 5 ounce sample glass for $7, but I think a "full" 8 ounce pour was $11. Tin bucket prices are routinely very reasonable, so I'm assuming this is just a very expensive beer. At least for me, I didn't feel the price was justified. There are plenty of local options that are superior to this beer and are more reasonably priced. Glad I had an opportunity to try this one, but have no need to revisit any time soon.
