Devil's Teeth - Bourbon Barrel-Aged - Strawberry And Vanilla

L: pours dark brown with a film of head
S: sweet sharp strawberry, chocolate and light bourbon
T: just like the nose, the strawberry is big...it’s light and sharp ca thick and rich if that makes sense.
F: medium thickness and a syrup feel

Very strong but surprisingly easy to drink. Clear strawberry n vanilla flavors come through. Smells very good. This was a surprise given the alcohol content. Overall delicious

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

12oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark cola brown body, nearly black, one finger mocha head, good retention and no lacing. Smell is rich strawberry ice cream and vanilla, with a touch of milk chocolate and cocoa. Fair bit of whiskey heat as well, vanillin and oak. Impressive Neapolitan ice cream aroma, for sure. Flavour is close, but not quite as good as it smells; good chocolate and bourbon, mild vanilla with a good dose of strawberry ice cream flavours, touch of cocoa lingers with a medium bourbon heat. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, good carbonation, rich and silky smooth, strawberry and vanilla lingering on the finish. Really fun beer to drink, adjuncts are balanced and the Neapolitan ice cream flavours are great. Not a Scoooop killer by any means but a nice reminder of that beer.

 

 

 

 

12/19/17: $13 + tax/tip 8 oz Nitro draft pour @ West 4th and Jane. Dark black pour, mild tan thin head. Strong bourbon aroma, offset by sweet vanilla and strawberry scents. Very nice. Vanilla and bourbon dominant tastes, strawberry nice sweet / strong mixture. Extremely smooth beer, silky mouth feel. Excellent after dinner drink. Fruity and sweet beers are not usually my first go to, but this is one of the best beers period I have had. Excellent after dinner drink, highly recommended! Would love to try other Modern Times Beers after this one. Extremely well done, cheers!!!
