Not sure if the age had some impact, but this was basic AF. Poured cola thin with a light tan head, resulting in a glass of translucent brown. Smell is bourbon and beer, and not much else. Flavor feels cold and watery, even at 55-degrees. It’s good because stouts and bourbon are good when paired successfully. This is a successful pairing, but it’s not blowing my mind.

The bottle I poured was quite flat. Did taste great but the lack of carbonation was off putting. Tons of dark chocolate, bourbon, molasses, oak, vanilla and sweet, roasty malts.

650ml bottle, 2018 release. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a thick oily black body, one finger offwhite head, fair retention, no lacing. Smell is decadent dark chocolate, vanillin, bourbon and oak, milk chocolate, slight cocoa, a little more vanilla. Rich, dark and chocolate fudge-heavy aroma. Flavour is a ridiculously thick milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, touch of oak, slightly smoky bourbon, a bit more vanillin- had to doublecheck to make sure I had the right bottle and not the Vanilla variant that was also given to me, there was enough vanilla for sure. Cocoa and touch of earth to round things out the backend. Decadent without being overly sweet, no dark fruit like Monster's Park, and rich. Mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy and substantial with appropriate carbonation, no heat on the finish. Such a well put-together stout, period. One of the best non-adjunct barrel-aged imperial stouts I have had in a long time.

Delicious. 22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Aroma is mostly bourbon and cocoa. Taste follows suite with sweet cocoa and notes of molasses and bourbon. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Really enjoyed this one.
