Pours a hazy, dark orangish pear juice with a light while head with very little lacing retention. Smell is a wonderful combination of citrus and bit tropical fruit with white wine and pine notes. Taste is very juicy grapefruit, tangerine and orange with a hint of peach and a piney undertone that makes for a well balanced beer. Smooth on the palette with gentle carbonation.

L - 3-finger dense offwhite head atop a gorgeous opaque orange body.
S - herb, cheese, pine, skunk. Not too appealing.
T - strange. Cheesy grapefruit with a touch of pine. Some skunk on the taste as well. Sour limes. Soured buttermilk. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - creamy body with lasting carb.
O - such a strange combination of hops.

I'm going to give MT the benefit of the doubt and suggest that I consumed this beer beyond it's target consumption date. Hops must have faded, beer was a bit uneven and nothing like the other reviews suggest. I picked it up because it just made it out to my area, but uh I actually know better when it comes to hazies and will stay disciplined in the future.

On draft. Very nice NE IPA. Hazy golden body, one finger white head, retention and lacing are appropriate. Smells of grapefruit and citrus, light caramel and toasted grain. Flavour is more of the grapefruity citrus flavours, not much bitterness. It's not superbly complex, but the mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and medium in body. Very easy to drink. I should have taken a 4-pack home with me.

June 17th, 2018 - I retrieved this can from the Flavordome alongside a few others to salute American beer and get some last tasting notes before I head to Japan. With the Mountain Voice I start with the least expensive of the four beers, but find a luxurious brew nevertheless. It pours with a reasonable haziness the color of a fresh orange peel, and has an aroma marked with tangerine and a bit of white peach. The flavor is where the Mountain Vice establishes its character, with a terrific mouthfeel that is filling, weighty and also cottony, like a storm cloud. And the flavor has all the weight and absent bitterness of your standard NE IPA, but what distinguishes it is a lovely marshmallow and marshmallow cream sweetness that is subtle and inviting. Though these cans are expensive, they are well worth enjoying as a last salute to the San Diego craft beer scene before embarking overseas.

From can June 2018 (thanks Zack!)
First haze bomb I've had from MT, and it doesn't disappoint. Pineapple and citrus in the nose...just juice, juice and more juice. Wish this one had a tad more balance - could use a little funk to cut the sweetness. Finish lingers for quite awhile, slight booze, rotten fruit tones (?); Worth checking out!
