Picked up a few of these old bottles & haven’t reviewed them because, musty. This one (spoiler alert) isn’t. 22 oz. bottle split with my wife.
The pour is a stout-like impenetrable black with less life than a scene from The Office. The nose is team: malt, malt, bourbon, old leather.
Devil’s Teeth – Quadruple Flowers Bourbon Barrels still has a hard kick too it. Booze up front, deep, rich malts, hearty bourbon, brown leather (rough, not polished). The bourbon has a hard, harsh edge to it that I dig. Dry, which I always attribute to the oak. Easy to put down but look at the ABV on her!
This has held up well at over three years old & there’s no sense that this has fallen off or on hard times. Very nice.

This is perfect, special stuff. For lovers of stouts-strong ales-old ales this is the best of all possible worlds. Sweet but not cloying, whiskey notes that don’t overwhelm, hops and malt in harmony.... can’t drink it every night at $1.36 an ounce, though I did get a few bottles on sale for $1.05 an ounce! So yes, pricey, but worth the treat.
