This outrageously delicious imperial stout was aged in bourbon barrels and meticulously dosed with coffee, vanilla, almond, and chicory to create a face-meltingly tasty, nitrogenated homage to the Big Easy.

Canned 19 Nov 2021. Thanks, Chris!
Black with a dark brown head that recedes to a ring. The nose is rich with a great balance of coffee, coconut, almond and a warming bourbon note. Licorice, sweet dark brown sugar, a little bitterness. The palate opens warming with vanilla, bourbon and coconut. The almond follows, rich and nutty with a bit of skin. A rich, dark brown sugar sweetness is present. Coffee and chicory follow with a nutty flavor that complements the almond and a rooty bitterness that works with the licorice. Sweet, dark brown sugar on the finish along with marzipan, bourbon and vanilla. Tasty.

12oz can, nitro, snifter glass. Dark cola brown body, one finger offwhite head, short retention, no lacing. Fairly short lived head despite the aggressive pour. Smell is freshly baked brownies, a bit of char, roasty coffee with a bit of dark fruit, minimal nuttiness- more of a sweet almond flavour on the palate which brings a fair bit of whiskey, milk chocolate, dark fruit and a touch of coffee bean roast. It's not superbly complex, but it's rich and sweet enough. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied despite the nitro, substantial with good carbonation, not too much in way of heat. Very nice BA coffee almond stout; the almond brings more of a sweetness, like amaretto, rather than nuttiness in this one.
