Now in its second iteration, this formidably tasty flavor-beast began as a collaboration with the excellent folks at Jester King. Brewed with a simple malt bill of pilsner, oats, and spelt, we pitched both breweries’ respective house cultures into open fermentation vessels before racking the beer into red wine barrels where it fermented and rested for many months. Finally, we dosed it with, like, so many raspberries. The end result is an outrageously tasty beer with an intense raspberry aroma that carries through to the flavor alongside a funky, rustic acidity that is an absolute joy to apply to the taste buds.

Surprisingly pinkish, orange-ish body, fairly hazy. Head production is quite good, but it quickly fades away entirely.

Nose is fresh, fruity, and floral, sharply acidic and slightly funky. Definitely notice the raspberries.

While the nose may have downplayed the sourness, this beer delivers a puckering punch on the palate. Sharply sour, with the raspberries delivering not the primary tartness, but rather the depth of fruity flavor. Tons of oak as well, although I don't notice much wine influence past the potential added sourness.

Very wonderful mouthfeel; sharply puckering, but otherwise very crisp and lively. Medium finish.

375ml bottle, stemmed glass. Bright medium reddish pink body, one finger white head, fair retention, no lacing. Smell is massive raspberry tartness, light vinous character, dab of wet oak, tart lemon and a bit of leather. Flavour follows, nice complex raspberry tartness, moderate lactic acidity, wet oak, lemon, dab of leather, slight tannic grapes, acetic tartness lingering through the finish that gives the parotids a good reason to shake. Medium body, good carbonation, tart raspberry for days following through the finish.
