I like the can artwork, great use of color. The pour is a hazy light orange. I agree orange being the main note in this drink which was mentioned already on this page, i'm also getting peach, apricot, mango & cantaloupe. Cheers! A-

this is super heady and good, my favorite hazy ipa of late that isnt wet hopped or done with honey or something, just a straight up hazy, and its banging! really cloudy from the tap, almost thick and murky enough to look unappealing, but the tall and lasting wispy white head reels me in and the aroma cannot be ignored. i feel like these guys have done nelson well before on more than one occasion, but its what bursts forth from this first for me, some ripe melon, green grape, and passion fruit tones in here too, all almost candied to me, as intense as a bag of skittles when im smelling it, mouthwatering for sure, and super fresh. the flavor is just as good, a hint of white coconut flesh, sweet orange and papaya, meyer lemon and lemon grass, i get the el dorado too with juicy melon, but its the nelson that stands the tallest in my palate, it also starts the earliest and lasts the longest, i love it. the beer is a little filling, but its smooth in its bigness, not bitey or harsh, and not as unrefined feeling as it looks. nice carbonation, some oiliness but good and dry overall, and one i really enjoyed every sip of. awesome hop profile to this, sturdy beer, delicious. so glad to be seeing more modern times around lately! their hoppy stuff is first rate!

Can poured into a Modern Times Beer glass

A: Pours super hazy golden orange amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Big tropical and orchard fruit, a little melon, citrus, a hint of pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Candied orchard and tropical fruit, peach, apricot, pineapple, cherry, papaya, mango, and melon, citrus, lime, lemon, and tangerine, a touch of pine, faint herbal notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: A little on the sweeter side, but it's got a cool hop combo that brings some unique flavors to the table.

Scarcely a beer that I’m tempted to sip again before I put down the glass. I felt like my search for the Holy Grail of Hazy IPAs ended with the discovery of this beer.

Murky orange smoothie look.

Tropical fruit, sweet orange and pine on the nose and palate.

Medium body-very smooth and dangerously drinkable.

A good beer that could have been great. The smell is kinda weak and I wish the finish didn’t end up a bit medicinal. In an case, quite good and worth a try if you stumble across it.

Meringue/froth head. Mango smoothie appearance. Tangerine peel with a touch of pine in the aroma. Toned down hoppiness with a note of tangerine peel. Medium light mouthfeel. Light tangerine peel finish as well.

Orange, hazy.

El Dorado.

Wish I would've grabbed this a month ago. Tinge of medicinal finish is the only knock on otherwise tropical combination of Citra & Galaxy.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $12.99 for a 4-pack
Purchased: Sept. 20, 2019
Consumed: Sept. 20, 2019
Reviewed as: New England Style
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 22, 2019

Somehow this one snuck on me. Modern Times used to do monthly releases on top of their core, seasonals and special releases, but this year they went to once every two months. Anyway, saw it at Windmill Farms recently but already had a big load, so got it the next time I went back. Was labeled online as, “We’ll be ushering in the 2019 fall season with this mouthwatering hazy IPA, stuffed with a treasure trove of Nelson, El Dorado, and Ekuanot hops for a powerfully tropical, fruit-laden profile that’s both complex and incredibly quaffable.” That’s a great hop combo.

Poured a medium yellow-to-gold murky color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see some slow moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled two of the three hops right away in Nelson and El Dorado, but also detected a little bit of Ekuanot as well. Also peach, apricot, orange, stone fruit, melon, pineapple, mango, earthy malt, hay, passion fruit and light green veggies. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted as good as the nose. Got Nelson, peach, apricot, stone fruit, pineapple, melon, El Dorado, mango, orange, passion fruit, earthy malt, Ekuanot, green peppers and herbal. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.75)

May have slightly overrated this overall, but outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

L: A rich murky orange with three fingers of fluffy ivory head. Good lace and retention.

S: Slightly mute aromas of guava, mango, and a hint of papaya.

T: Follows the nose but with a pronounced dankness as it warms slightly, mineral and booze qualities, and drier and more bitter on the aftertaste.

F: Smooth. The perfect light to medium weight and off-dryness.

O: A mighty fine beer. Agreed it is off-style, maybe more to our current expectation and modern murky juice interpretation, but it is good nonetheless.

Pours the now typical orange juice murk of the modern american hazy IPA. Nice big fluffy off white head, hangs in there like a champ, towering over the rim of the cup that will not abandon you in your time of need.
Nose is tart and fruity with a tropical bent. Pineapple, valencia orange, and kiwi pop for me.
Flavor follows the novel but now well trodden path this beer navigates. Orange juice, tart pineapple and golden kiwi, and the sense of citrus blossoms on a brisk morning. It's lovely even if it's become predictable.
Mouthfeel nails the marks, soft, low carbonation feeling, 'pillowy' you might say. Can't imagine drinking pint after pint but it is a pleasant sensation and seems to be the objective.
Overall, I am at a point where I don't know what to say about these beers anymore. Assuming you bought this because you want soft, juicy, hop slurry you are in the right place. It is tasty and pleasant to drink. I don't think I like these beers anymore but i am trying to rate to style and I think this one hits the notes for a shelfie (of course part of this style's hallmark seems to be that rarity is the finest of spices). I'd drink another. and it definitely scratches it's itch.

Four pack of 16oz cans purchased at Total Wine in Lynnwood, Washington.
Canned on 08/23/2019. Poured in to a pint glass.

Look- Hazy golden orange color. Large, dense, bright white head. Great retention and plenty of lacing

Smell- Green grape skin (Nelson Sauvin hops are BIG here), green apple, danky melon, citrus (tangerine, and grapefruit/lemon/lime pith), berries (blueberry and gooseberry), pear, tropical fruit (passion fruit, papaya, mango and pineapple), stone fruit, slight herbal grass and pine. The dank and melon get stronger the more it warms.

Taste- Follows the nose but the malts really balance out what would otherwise be a overly tangy hop bomb.

Feel- Light/Medium bodied. light carbonation, semi-sweet and smooth. Really easy drinking.

O- Crushable at 7.5%, really interesting aroma and taste, try it if you find it before it disappears.

This is a true New England hazy IPA in virtually every respect, except for the finish. I found a faint trace of that malted whiskey taste, not sure why, and certain not sure that others would agree.
