Not sure on the bottled date, I believe it was released mid-August.
A murky brown, syrupy pour. Viscosity is high, but still with a small amount of soft, ivory head rising and settling in a thin ring around the beer. No residual lacing left behind.
Loads of dark fruit aromas on the nose. Toffee and raisin surround notes of chocolate and toffee. The fruit imparts a low level of bittersweet qualities to the beer, as well as subtle undertones of oxidative evidence.
Hit immediately with toffee and raisin, however following that up is a low level of mildly tart fruit and lingering grapey flavor in the finish that hits with a touch of acidity. There's a complexity here, but also a lack of balance. The brandy booze definitely hits in the finish.
Incredibly viscous, thick, and sugary sweet. Loads of residual stickiness, along with a touch of tannic acidity and booze on the tail. A very slow sipper; enjoyable if patient, but lacking a bit for me.
