At first I thought it was too sweet, but adjusting expectations the more I drank I decided this was really great, truly delicious on tap.

12 oz can at share. Dar, dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is brown sugar, roast malts and nutty notes. Flavor kicks it up a niotch with the addtion of whiskey and chocolate. Coconut drifts around in the background. Pleasant warmth.

 

On tap. Tan head. Black color.

Big fudgey cake flavor, lots of coconut, the pistachio adds a nutty flavor. Kind of German chocolate cake like. Very warming from bourbon. Vanilla sweetness blended in.

Thick, rich, decadent. Smooth. Enjoying the warming finish. This was a treat to find on tap.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Had on tap. Midnight black with two fingers of brown foam. Chocolate fudge covered pistachio with accenting coconut, vanilla, chocolate cocoa truffle, and bourbon aromas, yeah this is going to be good. And it is, very rich chocolate truffle with coconut bursting forth, vanilla, slight toasted caramel, the pureness of bourbon flavoring, before all met by the pistachio. Nuts not over roasted so it all works well. Feel is thick, sludgy, sticky, has decent booziness and viscosity. Very well done!

 

 

 

 

 

The nose is pure pastry magic. Absolutely majestic. Puff pastry, coconut and pistachio. If only the appearance, taste and feel lived up to the aroma. Yet, still such a fantastic beer.
