I think I had this at the Bistro DIPA festival in February 2020. Review is amongst others from the fest. Highly circumstantial evidence.
Golden pour leaning into light amber coloring. 1/3" white head. Its a good hoppy nose, but if you were looking for Nelson to bang real hard, it doesn't. Its there, just like Citra, but doesn't reach the great heights the top tier ones do. Nice, yes, great, not quite. You know the danky citrus vibe they bring.
Taste is good too, but perhaps still in that glad to have it but not good enough to recommend to people to seek it out. More waves of orange, tangerine, weed, guava, pine, pineapple. Bready malt body. Centennial pine bitter seems to be the most prominent thing in the taste and mouth feel.
Modern times seems to make more stouts I like at a high level than their hoppy beers. The hoppy stuff is reliable and you can rest easy knowing it won't be terrible, but generally speaking the cost and freshness are generally prohibitive to repeat purchases.

On tap at Playground in Santa Ana, CA.
Initial thoughts are that it’s pleasant. It had a nice aroma like this chick that works at Burberry. And up and down, as I scoped it, it looked nice like her too. Taste is a bit weird, but good. Like, it’s all California hoppy and shit like the Energizer Bunny, but there are also bread-like flavors. Which is fine. If the bread isn’t Sara Lee, ya know?
Yeah. Good. Well and good. But this one isn’t like the last whack that broke open the piñata, ya feel me?

On draft at Craft Drinkery. Nice golden hue and solid smells of a good ipa that isn’t this crazy hazy stuff that is going on. Excellent west coast straight up ipa. Thank you modern times
