a collaboration with a japanese brewery i am unfamiliar with, an awesome gose using japanese citrus, pineapple, and sea salt, its crisp and clean, not too sour, and very light and refreshing on a hot day, we loved this on their rooftop in portland, what a spot! a golden hue to this, maybe honey toned with a little orange, a slowly fading inch of white head from the tap, and a bright tangy nose with a lemon and orange zesty complexion, a little bit of apparent acidity, earthy minerals, and sweet tropical fruit, good proportions though, nothing overdone. the flavor is summery and delicate, citrus and pineapple together in equal parts, lots of salt at the end but it helps to dry out the fruit, great flow to it, nice carbonation, i can taste a little of the wheat base but the grain is very light in here, and the sourness is very tidy and professionally done, tangy without being sharp, complimentary to the wheat and to the fruit both, and this crushes my thirst pretty effectively. i dont always love fruit in my gose, but its authentic and rightly dosed in here. the base gose is of excellent quality, and modern times continues its strong track record with these kinds of sours. this is great summer beer!
