Thanks to Dimidiata for this one from a ninja box during NBS BIF #12. 12oz can (dated 8/5/2020) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected thick, oily black of the style, with about a quarter-inch of tan head that had low retention and no lacing.
The aroma started off with the expected stout aromas, lots of grain/malt, but had hints of barrel and bourbon. After a few moments though, the wood and booze became more notable.
Pretty similar on the tongue, the wood and bourbon eventually came to dominate things, but the solid flavors of the base brew stayed firm.
The body was solid, but perhaps a touch thinner than I look for. It was smooth, and carried only hints of alcohol heat.
Drinkability was very good, but this is a sipper for sure.
Overall, a very nice brew, certainly worth your attention should you see it.
