This monstrous blend consists of a trifecta of imperial dessert stouts (Dragon Mask, Mega Devil’s Teeth, and Modem Tones), all of which had an extended 14-month stay in rye whiskey barrels. That amalgam was lavished with vanilla, dark roast coffee, and cocoa, resulting in a beer bursting with dessert decadence, underscored by a delightful oakiness from the barrels. It’s the liquid embodiment of pure luxury, so prepare for your pinkies to be fully out upon your first sip.

Amber-hued black with a half finger of short-lived, dark-mocha head. It settles into a fat, lasting crown that leaves very little lacing.
Big chocolate brownie, caramel, vanilla and coffee in the nose. Hints of plum behind.
Where the aroma is very sweet, the taste swings somewhat back the other way. There’s lots of baker’s chocolate rather than brownie and caramel. Some almost jammy fruit shows beneath that, but it plays off the darker flavors. There’s a kiss of alcohol, too, with just a touch of rye spiciness. Coffee bitterness sneaks up on you in the finish. The aftertaste is bitter mocha-coffee with flashes of vanilla.
The mouthfeel is slick and creamy, but still much thinner than what’s expected from monster stouts like this these days.
Lots of excellent, complex flavors in this that achieve surprisingly decent balance. When first sniffed, I expected a caramel chocolate brownie pastry stout. There’s a lot more depth to it than that. Fantastic beverage.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like roasty chocolate milk, fudge, vanilla, creamy coffee, raisin, rye spice, oak, and caramel.
This is absolutely wonderful. The rye barrels add a subtle spice and oak that helps keeps thing a bit more balanced. The chocolate (most especially) and the coffee lead the way here, making for a roasty, slightly raisiny dark mocha type flavor that works very well. I don't get a ton of vanilla, but I do get caramel and fudge.
This is pretty thick and very creamy, with no real booziness to it. This is pretty absurdly decadent, all things considered.
Modern Times is a top 3 pastry purveyor in the country currently. This is absolutely excellent.

Another exceptional pastry stout. Tastes like uninfected Mostra Tones. Dark black body. Medium coffee balanced out by massive chocolate fudge. Nice mild dose of whiskey and oak. Vanilla marshmallow sweetness and slickness adds to a full body. Yum!
