Pastry bois far and wide, prepare to meet thy maker. This impossibly luxurious blend consists of two hallowed imperial dessert liquids--Suggestion of Mass (born of a collaboration with J. Wakefield) and Mega Devil’s Teeth--which was aged in equally sacred vessels of liquid excellence; Kentucky bourbon barrels. The final beer is as silky smooth as it could feasibly be, overflowing with deep, rich notes of chocolate. Do they serve this by the bottle in Nirvana? We can’t be sure, but we’d be willing to put money on it.

Thick and decadent. Big chocolate fudge, sweet whiskey and damp oak. Perhaps a bit of sweeter cocoa and vanillin, but packs chocolate all the way through. Full bodied, lower carbonation, slightly sticky, damp oak on the finish.

Another great barrel-aged beer from Modern Times. Predominance of stewed dark fruit and chocolate on the nose. Palate more barrel-forward; Boozy oak and baking chocolate with a warm, fairly dry finish.

Most recent batch, I believe - "Schmillett" barrels.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like dark baker's chocolate, oak, leather, roasted malt, milk chocolate, and some light barrel vanilla.
This is much less sweet and decadent than I've come to expect from Modern Times. It's honestly a very nice changeup. There's lots of dark baker's chocolate, with a nice roasty note, and a spicy bourbon finish. There is some additional sweetness as the beer warms up a little bit - caramel, chocolate, etc.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, and nicely rich, with good drinkability without much booziness.
