This breathtaking collaborative shrine to darkness was built with a blend of bourbon barrel-aged Monsters’ Park Imperial Stout and a seriously stellar batch of Mostra coffee. As if that weren’t enough (and it totally was), we topped the whole shebang off with generous quantities of toasted and untoasted coconut, cocoa nibs, and toasted almonds. Expect a full bodied Stout with an epic amount of coconut, a strong coffee nose, and a rich milk chocolate bar finish. So, yeah. It’s pretty serious.

12oz can at share. Near black pour, thin layer of brown head. Chocolaty aroma, coconut, coffee. Taste is more of the sumptuous chocolate coffee coconut with a trace of vanilla at the back.

Sweet milk chocolate, almond nutty coffee, vanilla-coconut, and balanced bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a chocolate-fudge mocha coffee, hint of almonds, hint of coconut, and a bourbon boozy finish. I am a little late to the party on this one, but it has held up well for almost 2 years old. This is tasty! As it warms, however, its age starts to show up a bit more...a green pepper note from the coffee starts to interfere on the backend. And, it I am nitpicking, this is just a touch over-carbed.

Oily dark black body. Milk chocolate, medium coconut sweetness with dark, mildly bitter chocolate fudge and espresso. Smoothed out by mild, sweet vanilla on the finish. Full bodied, good carbonation. Smooth, rich and balanced, even by pastry standards.

Coconut, creamy almond, fudge, coffee, vanilla. Tiramisu cake. Chocolate fudge. Oreo cake pop. Liquid dessert. Backed by warming bourbon. Ends with some nice heat.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like super bright and vibrant coffee, milk chocolate, toasted coconut, toasted almond, coconut cream, vanilla, and caramel.
This is kind of ridiculous. There's a little bit of barrel here that does help keep the sweetness down - there's some spice and oak. The adjuncts are obviously the star here, with just a wonderful use of coffee here. There are none of the sometimes off flavors that you get with the coffee - just unbridled coffee goodness. The almond is a bit stronger than the coconut, but both of them meld well together here - a nice complement and sideshow overall. The coffee is meant to be the star here.
This is thick, creamy, rich, and not at all boozy, with a ridiculous drinkability for the style and strength.
This is just stupidly delicious - it's everything that you want a barrel aged coffee stout to be.
