Buckle up for an intergalactic exploration of space, time, & flavor magic. We began this delectable hazy IPA with a malt bill of 2-row, golden naked oats, wheat, and flaked oats. We then loaded it with Citra, Bru-1, and Riwaka hops, making for a stunningly bright beverage swirling with all kinds of citrus, which mingles beautify with notes of melon and apricot. Each sip will have you reveling in the splendor of this conversion of extremely tasty elements.

Well, this is a disappointing pour. A less than aggressive decanting from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug brought a larger layer of stark white foam than liquid into the vessel. That always spells trouble for the body and malt contributions to the taste. Brewers, please continue to make barley the main starch in the wort. Oates work OK as softening agents, but wheat just shouldn't be included in an IPA. Typically, the big white mess is receding in an unattractive irregular way, leaving glass lacing that's just as erratically unappealing. Overall, the color is a dense and dull straw-amber, once you get passed the ridiculous head. The can is finally drained, but the foam still takes up 33% of the mug. The uninspiring smell is of sharp hops, a little piney and a little less earthy, but sharp. It's a mouthfeel noticeably lacking of body, no surprise and the hopping is mediocre. For those that like their IPAs with a limited body and no true malt contributions of sweetness and earthiness to them, this is made for you. Those than like their IPAs in the more traditional style will wish they had a Heady Topper nearby to chase this unpleasant experience.

Can poured into a Modern Times Beer Willi Becher glass
A: Pours hazy peachy golden orange amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a dense layer and leaves plenty of thick lacing.
S: Almost over ripe tropical and stone fruit, pine, citrus, grassy notes, a touch of spice, bready malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
T: Resinous pine, mix of citrus, tropical, and stone fruit, pineapple, apricot, peach, tangerine, mango, lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of melon, grassy, interesting hit of spice, bready malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
M: A bit on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, creamy smooth.
O: I feel like this one drinks bigger than it is, more like a DIPA (not necessarily a bad thing). I haven't had many beers with BRU-1 hops, so it was fun to see what it brings and how it interacts. All that said, it's just OK for me.

Picked this up at the market because it was three weeks old. I have mixed feelings about it since the first can was really extraordinary, but the one I had last night was not. On first tasting I thought I was experiencing some variety of hops for the first time, or maybe a combination of less common hops. There was depth and nuance. Last night it was Citra, Citra and something else in a supporting role. Maybe I can figure out how to tweak my palette for a repeat of the initial experience. It’s a fine MT product otherwise, but boring when it’s predominantly Citra.

Pours a hazy golden straw color with a nice head and lacing. Smell is fresh tropical fruit. Taste has citrus ,melon mango, berries and pine very nice. A soft mouth feel fresh sweet and fruity, small amount of just right bitterness, very good to the style.

Cloudy bright orange with a real nice foam head with great retention. Nice lacing.
Bold fruity smells to the nose.
Orange pulp or rind, fresh oranges, peaches, apricots and grapefruit. Hop resin too.
Hop bitterness is nice and carbonated.
Real nice overall beer that I would buy a 4pk of.
