Seeing the odd MT BA Stout on MN shelves is enough to make me weep with joy. I hope they’re able to keep pumping them out & sending them east. 22 oz. bottle split with the wife.
Black & quiet. Soft, gentle nose that consists dusty nuts, bourbon, chocolate. Not much of any of them, though.
Soft Swerve – Rocky Road is mild for a Modern Times monster. Everything is soft & unfocused: bourbon, chocolate, acorns, & that finish that I couldn’t identify as marshmallows until I read the label (in good light with my readers, of course). Sweet & sugary. Full, nearing pastry status, but this is the definition of a sharing stout.
Good beer, but not up to the insanely high standards I’ve set for this brewery’s stouts.

Bottle at share. Dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Roasty malt aroma, walnuts and marshmallow. Bozziness comes through in the nose as well. Taste blends the chocolate, vanilla and nuts into a nice rendition of the ice cream flavor, coupled with some rising warmth at the finish.

Excellent. Dark oily black body. Vanilla, marshmallows up front, chocolate fudge in the middle with a mild nuttiness on the backend. Truly dessert-forward flavors. Full bodied, decadent, mildly nutty ice cream-like finish. Supremely tasty.
