Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a very little head formation that dissipates to nothing with a slender ring around the glass. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coconut and vanilla; a hint of cocoa. Flavor is sweet dark toasted malt, vanilla, coconut and cinnamon; sweet vanilla finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant, if not to complex dessert stout that showcases all three of its adjuncts well and nicely balanced: cinnamon, vanilla and coconut, with the latter probably the lightest note. A little sweet and I'm starting to lose my interest in sweet dessert/pastry stouts as the flavor is great at first but trends towards cloying as the glass empties. This come is a reasonable 12 oz. can that is probably about right for this style. Well done for the style, as expected from a Modern Times stout. Not seeing much of them out our way any more.

Standard murky dark brown, nearly black body. Nice horchata flavors, touch of cinnamon spice, nice vanilla marshmallow and coconut juice sweetness. Sweet, as expected, but not unpleasant. Good carbonation, full body. 12oz can format is easy to access.

Pouring a cellar temp 12 oz can into a snifter. The beer pours a black coffee color with a fizzy tan head of 1 cm. This foam fades rapidly to a thin edge layer and some surface streams rising to the surface. minimal lacing from swirling the glass.
The aroma is dark chocolate mixing with hints of vanilla and very faint buried cinnamon. More earthy cinnamon than spicy 'Big Red' gum cinnamon, sort of a muted. No hint of hops and the ABV is well hidden.
First sip reveals a very smooth textured beer with medium to thicker body. Soft spacious carbonation that barely feels anything as I swallow the beer.'
Flavor comes through and is milk chocolate and some roasted malts followed by a little vanilla and more chocolate. Finish is where the coconut is finally revealed, it shows up after the swallow as aftertaste in my mouth. A bit surprised by this entrance, but I enjoy it. ABV shows as a little warming on the swallow and that is it, pretty impressive for a 12% brew!
Very nice smooth and tasty imperial stout. Glad to have tried this one!
