Better get those reviews in who knows when tHe rUlZ will change and you can't review a soon to be closed brewery because reasons. Had this on tap at BeerNV I think after a day of skiing. 1st review of this beer on BA and I added it to the database. 1/2 points.
Pours golden. Looks pretty good for having a coffee addition. Although I guess since its in a dark beer 97% of the time, I haven't really thought about its actual influence on a beer's appearance. Anyhoo, this looks nice. The aroma hits you in a conflicted way, no doubt you smell coffee, but yes, also hops. Its rare that in this style, they don't crowd each other out. Tough to make a good coffee ipa. And here, they at least live in tandem/harmony, even though the nose on each without the other would be insufficiently mild.
Taste brings both out a little more, and ultimately the interplay of coffee and hops makes this a winner. The dry west coast body firmly puts 2 of 3 feet in the ipa category. Doesn't get overly bitter but is firm enough to put hair on your chest. I liked it.
