This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like rich dark chocolate, spicy oak, caramel, vanilla, jammy dark fruit, honey, and coffee.
I wasn’t really sure how figs would work – but the Fig Newton Bourbon County that recently came out was very good, and so is this one. There’s a wonderful honey-dipped fig sort of vibe here, jammy, but dry, and not too sweet. There’s a ton of fudginess here, with a wisp of brandy, lots of oak, and a touch of bourbon.
This is medium bodied, very creamy, and not boozy at all.
This is one of the more unique entries in the vast but excellent Modern Times pastry catalogue.

On tap at Modern Times. Pours pitch black with no head. The nose is brandy, figs, bourbon, chocolate, molasses. The taste is amazing. Bourbon, brandy, intense booze, cherries, figs, chocolate, toffee, and brown sugar. Incredible. Great mouthfeel with a nice sweet finish.
