This one pours a very thick looking dark black color, with a tiny head, coconut floaties, and no lacing.
This smells extremely sweet, cloying, and coconut heavy, with lots of milk chocolate.
This doesn’t have anywhere near the finesse that I’m used to with Modern Times. There’s not a lot of barrel character – it’s mostly just creamy and very sweet coconut, along with lots of milk chocolate, and some vanilla. It’s tasty, but too decadent, and just kind of sloppy overall.
This is very thick, definitely on the syrupy side, with a lower level of carbonation.
This was one of the lesser Modern Times beers that I’ve had – it was a bit disappointing. I still mostly enjoyed it, but I had to adjust my palate to it for sure.

So basically Chaos Grid is a blend of 5 Modern Times big BBA stouts…infinity Gauntlet, Beastmaster, Modem Tones, Mega Devils Teeth and Monster’s Park. Given that, the flavors are huge and ‘chaotic’, so a heavy dose of adjuncts can really reign things in, as it does here. Even with the strong coconut notes, still boozy AF.
