We crafted this experimental gem of a DIPA with heaps of HBC 586, Citra Cryo, and Mosaic Cryo hops. The result of this lupulin power-trio is akin to descending a blueberry milkshake waterslide and being gently delivered into a ball pit filled with fresh, ripe tangelos. If that doesn’t sound like something you want to experience, we feel sad for you.

The reason I rated this low is essentially because it's flavored with some hops which I am unfamiliar with and simply not into.

sawdust and hay, douglas fir finish, sour apple, touch of stone, first rain. feel seems ok at first but the fine lacing yields a much more satisfying body and breadth. it hangs heavy in the mouth. smell is a little distant, kind of a sweet-sour thing on the nose.

OVERALL/SUMMARY: A+ seasonal double hazy from Modern Times. This hazy wonder comes with particular melon and peachy hop flavors that I can't quite nail down, which is what makes this amazing...it's unique, and very well-balanced in all regards.
If you're reading this MT, ya'll wizards in the lab!! Droppin' hits like MJ in the 80s! Cryo hopped and smashing the scene! This is one for the books.
If you're into MT and/or hazies, here's a more in-depth analysis:
Dee-yam! My fav brewery does it again, a seasonal Imperial Hazy DIPA...and better than the previous installment ("Pause for Effect") which was quite good itself.
LOOKS
Can art is--as always--very cool, abstract artistic and great fonts and all that hipster jazz.
The beer looks great in the room with normal light, but in the sunlight, it looks amaze-balls.
Opaque, yellow and a bit of orange color.
NOSE:
Sweet but not too sweet, honey dew melon, herbs and fresh green grass in a very good way, and then all of those mixed up fruity flavors. Can says tangelos...whatever, just stonefruits for days. Hmm...now I need to research tangelos because this does smell different...amazing.
ON THE TONGUE:
A tangelo is a citrus fruit that is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit... and this beer does have that typical grapefruit citrus profile, BUT since a tangelo is a citrus fruit that is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit, and since tangerines are usually sweeter and less sour, this is almost exactly what this beer does! Wow. Just the right balance. Amazing for a 8%+ ABV...any alcohol is hidden in that hop profile and perfectly balanced by the backbone of...ummm...what the HELL MT!?? Where's the info about the malts and what not? You normally have this on the can? That makes me sad.
Anyway, when I burp I get distinct tangerine flavors (sorry if that's gross, but the burps smell and taste amazing...LOL!). This beer makes you burp amazing lupulin infused breath! ;)
MOUTHFEEL:
Hmmm...special. Medium to dry, BUT that doesn't tell the whole story. It's thick and milkshakey, but not in that nasty ass way some milkshake style IPAs are. The more this warms up, the thicker it'll likely feel. But this is well balanced and brewed.
This is a must try if you're into hazies, MT, or just love very well made craft beer. At 60 IBUs, this is a bitter hazy FYI. And worthy of love.

Can poured into a Mountain Times Beer Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves some nice lacing.
S: Sweet ripe tropical, citrus, and stone fruit, blueberries, melon, a bit floral, a touch of wheat, biscuity malt, and honey sweetness.
T: Juicy citrus, tropical, and stone fruit, orange, mango, guava, nectarine, cantaloupe, blueberry, papaya, and faint lemon, subtle floral notes, a touch of wheat, biscuity malt, and plenty of honey sweetness.
M: A little on the fuller side of medium body, moderately soft carbonation,
O: Super smooth, packed with juicy fruits and a couple unique elements. Sits a bit sweet and some of the flavors kinda blend together into what I can only describe as an "orange fruits" flavor instead of each showing up clearly, but sure to be a crowd pleaser. I'd happily have another.
