22 oz bottle into a snifter

Slightly less viscous that some of the previous WB’s. Barely a trace of carbonation

Nose is oaky and nutty. Plenty of cocoa and toffee notes, with a fair amount of booze.

Flavors are molasses-forward, oaky. There’s a bit of pit fruit essence not detected in the nose. Long finish, incredibly delish.

Super tasty, sludgy, barrel-aged brew that straddles a traditional BA’d and a pastry stout.

 

A thin tan head quickly disperse to a fuzzy ridge over an 8 ball black body that displays some dark brown threads at the edges.

While the process description of this beer is outrageous, the overall expression falls short. Mild coffee ice cream in a waffle cone meets a light bourbon kick of both barrel character (like vanillin and caramel) and warmth. It sounds good but this is all more sweet and tangy than I'd prefer, kind of like raspberry, in an unexpectedly lighter than typical body. It also becomes more and more raisiny as it warms.
