Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick black with quickly dissipating brown head. The nose is really nice. Brown sugar, marshmallow, vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee, and a bit of rye.
The taste is super smooth. Really loving this. Roasted malts, light-roast coffee, dark chocolate, black licorice, raisins, port, rye, vanilla, graham cracker, brown sugar. Not boozy at all. Dangerous. Sweet, but not cloying. Strikes a nice balance among the different flavors. Nothing really overpowers anything else.
The mouthfeel is thick and creamy, and the aftertaste is brown sugar and vanilla.

This is actually a lot more balanced than expected. Take the vanilla bean decadence of original Modem Tones, and add earthy and drying nuances of chicory and coffee. About as good as it gets right here, an absolute knock-out brew.
