Dark and semi-sweet chocolate, a hint of banana, and a bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a thick and viscous, dark chocolate covered banana, dark fruity, and a vanilla-bourbon barrel finish. Hmmmm...this is interesting. It is a thick banana stout, but it almost drinks like a black barleywine IMO. I picked up some dark fruit notes, vanilla, and some caramel/toffee on the backend...a touch of maple syrup too. As a banana stout this is okay, but if this was a black barleywine with a touch of vanilla and banana added..well, then this would be pretty good! Ha!

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very thick black with almost no head. The nose is fantastic. Charred wood, toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, banana, marshmallow, and some roasted malts. Very interesting and smooth.
The taste follows the nose. Banana, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, molasses, walnuts, almonds, and a bit of maple syrup. The roasted malts from the nose really doesn't make an appearance on the taste. It's nutty and full of chocolate and banana, and quite sweet.
Thick mouthfeel with a nutty banana aftertaste. Overall, a really nice take on the style.
