22 oz bomber into a snifter.
This just makes me sad with all that’s happened with Modern Times - an absolutely epic barrel-aged stout, capturing a lot of the essence of the previously hyped (overhyped) pasty stouts and the rich- sipping decadence of the early iterations.
This one is oozing with leathery, tobacco like nuances, along with grape-like subtleties of the brandy and sherry infusions. Tons of molasses and bitter/burnt cocoa aspects. Just a complete knockout beverage that only a relative handful will ever get a chance to indulge. Cheers!

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a VERY thick black. No head. The nose is bloody amazing. Tons of brandy and Armagnac. Some vanilla and chocolate as well.
The taste is silky smooth. This is definitely dominated by the fruity barrels. Sherry is probably the dominant flavor for me. Sweet, with some vanilla and burnt toffee. A slight note of charred wood as it warms a bit.
The mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The carbonation is extremely low, so the aftertaste is super intense to me.
