Poured at fridge temp. Pours jet black with zero head. Looks fairly still. Looks thick. The nose is intense. Huge notes of molasses, brown sugar, dark toffee, red wine, vanilla, dark berries, and loads of bourbon.

The taste is equally intense. Loads of bourbon and plenty of port/sherry notes. In fact, I would say it leans more to the latter, which is a bit odd given that it was aged in bourbon barrels only. Blackberries, raspberries, dark cherries, raisins, vanilla, some toffee, and a solid hit of booze. It's really good, but not exactly what I have come to expect from a bourbon barrel-aged stout.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and quite fruit forward on the aftertaste.

On tap at the North Park location. Big bourbon creation, rich and worth stopping in for. A monster IS, with a blend that doesn't show its 14 percent weight.

Appearance: Pours pitch black with a brown film that quickly fades to a ringlet; leggy but no lacing

Smell: Black cherry, prune and brownie mix with rich Bourbon aromatics

Taste: Dark chocolate forward with the black cherry and prune flavors growing; the Bourbon blend complements with some brownie batter adding sweetness to the finish

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low carbonation; very thick with warmth in the gullet

Overall: This is an outstanding BA stout with a masterful blending job; sorry to see this series come to an end but this is a fitting exclamation point on the series
