October 25th, 2013 - I haven't seen the Roraima around since I first had this a couple of years ago, but it was a fun beer, if not as Belgian as I would have liked. The aroma out of the tasting glass was a little muted, but there were some expressions of pecan and maple, though more savory and vegetal than either of these aromas would suggest. The taste is on the flatter side, subtler, but keeps pushing the savory sides of both pecan and maple syrup. Thus, in nose and on the tongue, think of roasted, unglazed pecan nuts, and for the syrup, Grade A - light and graceful and even a little botanical.

On tap at the Grand Opening Party

A: Amber in color with not much of a head at all.

S: Crazy smell. Nice barnyard funk, fruit loops, guava and mango. A crazy blend that really works for me.

T: Smooth caramel malt with just a hint of herbal hops. The taste doesn't show as much fruit as the aroma, but I really thought this was a great beer. The best of the night for me.
