Poured from 22oz bottle into Chimay goblet.

L - Clear copper pour, minimal off-white head.

S - Malty bread, toffee, mushroom-like earthy notes.

T - Bitter hops at the front, mellowing into yeasty notes, toasted grains and woody cinnamon.

F - Thin, slightly watery, little carbonation.

Very much like an octoberfest or a weak brown ale. Not a bad beer, but doesn't scream dubbel.

From a growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This nice little DIPA
pours a clear orange tinged tea color with a nice head of off white foam that
settles to a thick ring, light pool, and features some very nice lacing. Nose of
grapefruit, pineapple, sweet caramel malts, herbal hops, and subtle pine.
Flavors hit the right notes and fall straight into experimentation realms with
citrus notes of grapefruit and pineapple tossed into a sweet orange creamsicle
that is truly creamy with some pine and herbal hops tossed into a nicely balanced
caramel malt backbone. Nice mouth feel; smooth and creamy, medium light body,
medium carbonation, and a creamy enjoyable finish with a touch of alcohol warmth.

I am no hop head, but this is excellently balanced and approachable in every
way----warmth brings much more character. Let it breathe some before enjoying.

Cheers and excellent work Rhinegeist!

My experience with this was quite different as it tasted like a cream ale with an overwhelming ammonia and chive flavor. Did get a steady orange and caramel flavor but it seemed to be fleeting. I shared a bomber and others in the group did not get same flavors so I'll chalk it up to my palate.

Aroma was initially dominated by onion/body odor notes, but later became laden with tropical fruit notes and resin.

Flavor is grassy and resiny throughout, dank, with a moderate malt sweetness and overlying notes of mango, peach, and tangerine. The finish is earthy and fairly bitingly bitter.

Knowing their way around the hop scene, the hop haven of Rhinegeist ventures into a flavor that boasts the most exotic aromas and flavors on the planet and with a smooth but dedicated bitterness to lure hop-heads near and far. As they have flirted with world-class status in brewing, Homie has delivered them to that promise land.

Pouring the deep burnt orange, copper and honey-amber, the beer's bright austere precludes a tall and lathery column of persistent foam. Billowing over with its highly aromatic fragrance, the tantalizing scents of tropical fruit, citrus fruit and softly muddled herbs evoke mouthwatering behavior and an aura of irresistibility. Juicy and radiant on the palate, its light caramels and honies seem to give the hop-fruit impressions a more ripe, vibrant and succulent natural sweetness.

As the sweetness begins to retreat, the intensity of fruit grows. Red grapefruit, blood orange, nectarine and lemondrop starts the hoppy show, but then the flavors trend to exotic pineapple, mango, passionfruit and apricot. The finishing tastes develop further into the earthy realm with the bittering power of fresh grass clippings, geranium, lemon leaf and soft pine resins.

Medium-bodied, the strong ale is dangerously dry, smooth and thirst quenching. Trending dry, bitter and lightly spiced, its alcohol simply assists the dryness and offers a light peppery bite to finish. Lingering deeply with strengthening pine and grassy bitterness, an afterglow of those exotic citrus and tropical fruit flavors lead into the next sip effortlessly.
