Great clarity, but minimal head and retention.
Aroma is nutty and caramel dominant, with a touch of citrus underpinnings. Somewhat subtle.
Flavor is vinous, and seems to be mildly infected, initially. The finish is musty in a brett-like fashion, and fairly dry. Notes of vanilla and oak surface as it warms. Grapefruit becomes evident late.
Not what I expect in a barleywine. Malt character is somewhat thin. The pappy character is almost lost.
