Pours golden in color with average head retention. Aroma of pears and subtle orange zest. It's flavor is nice, maybe not exactly what I was expecting, but nice. Mild, yet not lacking in flavor. A sweet bready flavor, followed by pears, with a crisp, dry finish for a beer of this style. At times reminded me of souped-up pilsner. Crisp and easy drinking, with just a little more going on than most pilsners I'm used to. For a "belgian dark ale", this wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but a good tasting and easy drinking beer nonetheless.

Enjoyed form the 22 oz bottle in a snifter, this nice blonde pours a beautiful clear light honey color with a modest head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, wafting pool, and light lacing. Nose of pears, white pepper, light fresh baked sweet rolls, subtle candy sugars, and subtle citrus notes of lemon zest. Flavors follow the nose with sweet candy malts and light baked sweet rolls on the front, a mild white pepper note to the middle mixes nicely with a sweet pineapple and pear flavor, and then fades to a light honey touched lemon drop and floral hop note. Very nice with a great crisp mouth feel with lively carbonation and a pear aftertaste.
A fantastic American Belgian that improves with warmth. Good character for a Belgian session style ale.
Cheers

Made a trip last Feb to Cincinnati, OH and tried this beer at the Tasting Bar at Jungle Jim's international market. I instantly loved this brew, full of fruity flavor with slightly dry finish. Liked it so much I bought my first Growler and took some home back to WV.
