A smooth, very sessionable Black Ale with very mild roast notes.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear deep mahogany amber with thin off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dark malt, grain, and coffee notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good rich malt base, nice coffee, and gentle finishing hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

From the growler via Country Fresh Market Beechmont in a snifter.
This solid brown pours a deep blackish brown with a nice head of
light tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and shows nice light
lacing. Nose of deeply roasted malts, dark chocolate, and mild coffee. Flavors
follow the nose with dark roast and coffee touched with dark cocoa and subtle
char. Very nice mouth feel; medium full body, medium low carbonation, and a
lightly dry finish medium finish. Nicely balanced and strong on flavor for a brown.
A solid little brew indeed.
Cheers

I'm not going to go into a ton of detail other than to say this...imagine a Guinness that's smoother and less bitter. It's delicious.

Called a black lager at Rhinegeist, this beer pours dark brown/black with a tan head. It smells roasty and the taste matches, with subtle chocolate flavors. I enjoy this beer and would like to drink it again!

I believe this is described as a dark lager, or euro dark lager and not a brown ale....
Pours dark brown with a huge, grey-ish frothy head on top. The head reminds me of the inside of a malted milk ball, the whoppers candy (at least its color and appearance).
The aroma is of roasted malts.
Flavor is also roasted or toasted malts. No big surprises here, but thats okay, sometimes simplicity is key.
The mouthfeel is a bit less than medium-bodied, less than what I was expecting based on its appearance.

Roasty and savory, with citrus notes and a nice chocolate presence. Untappd lists this as a black lager. It's somewhat between the two, though perhaps a bit roasty for a brown ale.

Rhinegeist describes this as a black ale but in terms of the newly classified American Black or Cascadian Black Ale which are highly hopped. This beer is low IBU and almost feels more like a representation of an English Dark Mild Ale with extra emphasis on the "Dark"
