I had this along with an assortment of Rhinegeist beer. It struck me as by far the worst, but then again I'm not a big fan of American brown ales. It tasted like bad peanuts. The English brown ales I've had were much better. If you're going for Rhinegeist, go for Truth (a solid beer).

Look: a clear chestnut brown color with a thick tan head.
Aroma: nutty with faint roast, faint plum, and faint floral hops.
Taste: slightly bitter coffee roast with nuttiness and faint caramel. A bit of toffee on the finish.
Feel: a bit lighter than medium-bodied and clean.
Overall: a nice brown ale. easy to drink.

I got a six pack of this from my local Meijer. It poured a clear dark mahogany with off white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of malt, nut and roast. The taste was slightly bitter leaning for a brown with coffee undertones. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

Pours a dark brown with a light brown head and hefty lacing. Smell is very much roasted malt, toasty, bread, and hints of sweet notes. Flavor starts with a big roasted malt up front followed by some bready characteristics, and the roasted malt coming through on the finish with a bitter aftertaste that has a slight hop presence. The mouthfeel is nice, smooth with good carbonation, medium feel. Overall this beer is really good, but doesn't fit the english brown style very well, not sweet and a hop presence. But still a really great beer worth checking out.
