From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This Belgian Golden pours a rich pale
amber tinged golden color with a decent head of white foam that falls
fast to a razor thin ring but still shows nice clarity. Nose of spicy white
pepper, light breaded malts akin to crackers, light pineapple, and light
notes of piney hops. Flavors follow the nose with a light cracker and
white pepper note akin to more of a saison or Belgian Pale ale that is
more heavily hopped with pine heavy hops and a touch of light peach
subtle pineapple notes that show on the rear. Decent mouth feel;
medium light body, medium low carbonation, and a dry pine and
subtle cracker finish that is a touch thin and watery.

Not as sweet as a Golden should be, more of a cross to a pale and
a saison with neither winning over in their respective styles.

Decent for a beginning brew or a session perhaps. Not a winner
from a good brewery.

Poured from 22oz bottle into Chimay goblet.

L - Slightly hazy rose gold pour.

S - Grapefruit-like hops, mushroom funk from the yeast.

T - Pith/pine hops, mango, elusive grain notes.

F - Light and creamy carbonation.

Bottle calls this a Belgian Golden Ale, but the flavors scream pale ale and something more akin to an American one than a Belgian. Like most Rhinegeist beers, the flavors are well crafted, but muted.
